Wilson Creek is home to lots of wildlife - from lizards, jackrabbits, quail, and chuckars, to the occasional deer.  Rattlesnakes on occasion in the middle of summer.  There are wider roads to ride on where you can keep an eye out for the snakes, as well as many miles of trails.

This is a place where horses, bicycles, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, and hikers all share the trails.  So be aware and be ready for anything from llamas to fast motorcycles.

There is no water and there are no trees for shade – so plan accordingly.  It is a great place for riding in the spring or fall when the weather is not too hot.  In the summer, early morning and evening rides are best to escape the heat.

This is a nice place for schooling young horses.    There are numerous trails to ride in every direction.  The trails are wide and well used, and it doesn’t hurt to have a few brushes with the sagebrush!!!

If your horse has long hooves or shoes, his feet should be fine.  Some of the trails have lots of rocks and lava cinders.  There are many sandy areas off to the east, so if you don't have shoes on your horses, this is ideal.

There are many loop trails.  Just keep your bearings and watch the landmarks and  you should be fine.

The Wilson Creek area has great views of southern Idaho’s high mountain desert scenery.
